Approve or deny employee availability requests
Updated onArticleTimeForge managers and supervisors can easily approve or deny availability requests in bulk. All TimeForge users have the ability to request time off, or change their availability. These types of requests (which can affect the hours worked, PTO, or the schedule) must first be approved or denied, by a manager or supervisor at your location. This guide will show you how to view the presence of pending requests on the TimeForge "Today" page, and then how to approve or deny those requests.

Approve your payroll
Updated onArticleTimeForge is an extensive and powerful time and attendance management system. Many, but not all, of the time and attendance capabilities occur within the Attendance tab. With TimeForge, you can add or edit attendance by date or employee, approve payroll for pay periods, export time punches to a third-party payroll company, and run numerous reports to review employee attendance. There are several ways to manage payroll inside of TimeForge, and many users simply run one of the many payroll reports at the end of their pay period. You can also manage the Approval process by approving time cards for a pay period, reviewing any sick, vacation, or PTO time, and then exporting payroll to one of our supported payroll providers. To use this feature, you must first have set up payroll periods for your location.

Clock in or out from the Today page
Updated onArticleTimeForge Attendance is a powerful online time clock system that keeps track of when you clock in/out and when you take breaks. This makes it easier for management to review and approve your payroll hours. In addition to basic time punch information, TimeForge can also track your declared tips and mileage (e.g. if you're a delivery driver). You can also enter notes about each shift, which can then be reviewed by your manager at a later date. You can use the clock in/out feature on the Today page to start or end your shift or to take breaks. Clocking in/out can also be done from the Employee mobile app if your employer allows it.

TimeForge Attendance with Dinerware POS
Updated onArticleTimeForge is capable of integrating and communicating with many of the leading Point of Sale systems to reduce the time you spend entering data. Dinerware is a focused and easy-to-use Point of Sale system with dealers all over the world. Integrating TimeForge with Dinerware will ensure that you get the most out of Dinerware and scheduling, and is also great for tracking employee attendance. The first step toward using these features is to install the TimeForge Dinerware Bridge software on your main computer system. The TimeForge Dinerware Bridge software will read and write to your Dinerware system as necessary, and can enforce your TimeForge schedules, thereby preventing employees from riding the clock. In some cases, you may want to use TimeForge Attendance exclusively as a way to track time and attendance at your business. To do this, you can turn off the synchronization of time punch entries from the POS system and use the full power of the TimeForge Attendance system instead, including our fingerprint scanner (to stop buddy punching), and our comprehensive meal and staff break system.

[Archive] 2014 Release Notes
Updated onArticleHello, everyone! We're always trying to improve the TimeForge experience for all our users. That's why we're especially excited about our conversion of code, which we'll be wrapping up in the next few weeks. Basically, we've been updating every line of our code (the "magic" behind the scenes of TimeForge) to make things run more seamlessly and efficiently. The code conversion should also boost the speed at which we can add new features. Although this process has been challenging, we're nearing the end and are confident that all of our users will experience the benefits. Here are a couple of other updates we've been working on.Employee Attendance with All Payroll IDs ReportWe've added a new employee attendance report that also shows every payroll ID. In addition to showing the start/end times, regular and overtime hours, and break times for employees, this report includes the payroll ID for each location, department, position, and employee. This report is great for managers and accounting teams who need a quick reference of any particular payroll ID. 24 Hour Time on ReportsWe've added a new personal setting in the "My settings" tab for managers. You can now choose a default setting for reports to display in 24 hour time as opposed to an AM/PM time format. Currently, this functionality exists for certain schedule reports, but we are working to add this to all reports including attendance and HR. Although this setting will change the default format, you can always quickly change between these two settings on the report configuration page while running a report.
