Add, edit, or remove an employee
Updated onArticleAdding, editing, and removing employees from within TimeForge is very easy to do. Employee accounts need to be created for any staff member who will be scheduling employees or who will be placed on the schedule themselves. Additionally, any staff member who will be running reports, clocking in, or receiving messages needs to have an employee account.
Employees are automatically synchronized from some Point of Sale systems that are set up to integrate with TimeForge.

View an employee's information
Updated onArticleThe Employees area of TimeForge houses important information about your employees, including basic info (name, address, date of birth, etc.), what departments they're in, their job positions, login information, and security level. Additional tabs allow access to historical pay rate/wage changes, PTO changes, notes, what locations they work at, human resources documents, their availability, schedules, attendance, and more.
Employee profiles can be viewed at both the Corporate and Location levels, but the availability of certain information may differ between these levels or may be limited by security settings.
The steps below will show you how to view an employee's details using either method.

The Employee Profile
Updated onArticleEvery staff member in TimeForge, whether they are an employee, supervisor, or manager, has a unique employee profile. The employee profile is essentially a portal where you can create, edit, and store information about your employees. This includes personal information (such as name, cell phone number, and email address), as well as attendance, schedule, and availability information -- all in one convenient location inside TimeForge.
Here we provide an overview of each section (tab) in the employee profile.

Create and modify Age Rules
Updated onArticleTimeForge Age Rules enable your business to adhere to company, state, or federal mandates regarding minors and seniors in the workforce. For example, if employees under age 16 are restricted from working more than 20 hours per week, TimeForge can help you set up and enforce this restriction on the Age Rules page.
Here's how you can set up age rules for your employees.

Turn off shift confirmations
Updated onArticleIn TimeForge, shift confirmations allow employees to confirm that they will work a shift for which they are scheduled, notifying management that they "got the memo." You may want to turn off shift confirmations if your business does not need employees to confirm their scheduled shifts. By turning off shift confirmations, employees will no longer have the option of confirming their scheduled shifts.
Here's how you can easily disable confirmations.

Restrict supervisors' access to personal information
Updated onArticleTimeForge gives you the ability restrict access to personal information. With different security levels between managers, supervisors, and employees, TimeForge already has some built-in security that helps prevent unwanted access to confidential information. For instance, an employee is not able to see pay rates, make schedules, or edit attendance entries unless you specify otherwise.
Similarly, a Supervisor has access to schedules and attendance and most everything a Manager has access to (by default but this can be changed), but is unable to see confidential information like the pay rates of other Supervisors/Managers unless you specify differently.
There are many options that can be customized for supervisors. Some of these options can be customized with security templates. Other options are listed below, and can be found on the "Settings" page.

Automatically approve Bid Shifts
Updated onArticleBid Shifts are a way to allow employees to build their own schedules in TimeForge, saving you the hassle of needing to assign staff members to every shift. You can simply set a bid shift for a specific time and date and let your employees build part of their own schedule.
For example, a bid shift can be picked up by several qualified employees -- providing management with a choice of multiple employees who want to work that shift. Bid shifts are then approved by management, and employees can choose to be notified, or not, about the approval (or denial) of the shift.
Alternatively, bid shifts can be set up be approved automatically. This is a great feature if you don't need to be directly involved with the decision of who wins a bid. With automatic approval, the first person to make a bid is always the winner.

Add, edit, or delete locations
Updated onArticleTimeForge offers the ability to add, edit, or delete locations as needed. Locations are subsets of corporations; they are branches or specific destinations (such as buildings or addresses) where employees work. TimeForge accounts can have many different locations, and staff members can work at any number of them. TimeForge automatically handles collisions/conflicts between various locations so that staff members are not scheduled to work in multiple locations at once. Information for all locations can be handled by managers at the Corporate level, or for one location at a time at the Location level.
The ability to have and manage multiple locations from one account allows managers to streamline their scheduling, attendance, and sales by connecting the information for each location and allowing comparisons to be made.

Create Custom Fields
Updated onArticleTimeForge already has built-in fields for collecting important employee information, such as phone numbers and birthday. But did you know that you can also create custom fields?

These form fields appear under your employee profile pages and may be set as required or even provided with a default value.
