Use the Daily Log to stay organized
Updated onArticleKeeping track of daily store logs, task lists, to-do items, and sticky notes can be tedious even for a small business. Add to that juggling maintenance visits, training events, human resource tasks, staff meetings, and other necessary items across multiple shifts (where the manager that scheduled the event may not be the manager responsible for the event) and you can quickly have what feels like a second full-time job.
Clear, organized communication among the management team and the rest of the staff is a requirement for every business, in any industry. As your business grows, keeping up with the pile of paperwork will not only become more difficult but also more critical for continued success. Fortunately, the TimeForge Daily Log is here to help you keep your business organized! This article will tell you how.

Get started quickly with the Setup Wizard
Updated onArticleThe TimeForge Setup Wizard makes getting started with TimeForge easy.
The wizard is designed to simplify the process of inputting information that TimeForge needs to help you manage your labor.
The Setup Wizard will walk you through setting up basic information about your company and staff, like basic staff information, a list of your positions, etc.
It also captures your location information, which is displayed on reports (printables), so you never need to worry about determining what schedule applies to which location.
How it works:
The Setup Wizard will also ask you some basic questions about how your store is organized. This information helps TimeForge more accurately customize our systems for your maximum convenience and ease of use. You shouldn't have to re-organize your business just to use our product; TimeForge customizes itself to your business. Our "fill in the blank" format saves you tons of time (money), and makes setting up your account easy and fast.
Information about your employees makes contacting them simple. Just enter their email addresses, and TimeForge automatically emails them with a prompt to set up their account. Once their accounts are set up, TimeForge can notify each employee (according to their preferences) via email, Facebook notification, and/or cell phone message. We make an automatic audit confirming that the employee received notification of the schedule. Never again will you hear, "I didn't know I was scheduled"!
After supplying position and employee information, your basic setup is complete - you're ready to start building a schedule!

Approve or deny employee availability requests
Updated onArticleTimeForge managers and supervisors can easily approve or deny availability requests in bulk. All TimeForge users have the ability to request time off, or change their availability. These types of requests (which can affect the hours worked, PTO, or the schedule) must first be approved or denied, by a manager or supervisor at your location.
This guide will show you how to view the presence of pending requests on the TimeForge "Today" page, and then how to approve or deny those requests.

Approve your payroll
Updated onArticleTimeForge is an extensive and powerful time and attendance management system. Many, but not all, of the time and attendance capabilities occur within the Attendance tab.
With TimeForge, you can add or edit attendance by date or employee, approve payroll for pay periods, export time punches to a third-party payroll company, and run numerous reports to review employee attendance.
There are several ways to manage payroll inside of TimeForge, and many users simply run one of the many payroll reports at the end of their pay period.
You can also manage the Approval process by approving time cards for a pay period, reviewing any sick, vacation, or PTO time, and then exporting payroll to one of our supported payroll providers. To use this feature, you must first have set up payroll periods for your location.
